Watson the Super Computer

What is a Watson?Watson is a “super computer” that can at most times out think a human. the computer is programed to answer a question in less than 3.5 seconds. when given a question Watson will not answer a question if it is not a certain percentage sure.

Why use jeopardy??The game of Jeopardy makes its players think about things from a range of topical knowledge. Can computer system only familiar to answering precise questions overcome these changes? Well that's why Jeopardy is a good way to test the accuracy and speed of this new super computer Watson. So far Watson is taking over the game of Jeopardy. It is Beeping the buzzard faster than you can think. yet there is still some improvement that need to be made. Although Watson is fast and has a lot of

THE CROWD CAHNTS “U.S.A”

Osama bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaeda, and believed to be responsible for sept.11th and other attacks on the U.S. He was on the list of most wanted terrorist and was the main target of the war on terror. On April 29th
Barack Obama authorized a raid on bin laden's location.

On May 1, 2011, in Washington, D.C President Barack Obama announced that Osama bin Laden had been killed. Within 24 hours he body was buried at sea.

Now that he is dead, you can hear a big sigh in the United States. It was an outbreak of national celebration in places like Washington D.C., New York and Pennsylvania all over one man's violent death. TV comedians spared no time to ridicule his death. Should we be laughing about something melancholic? Should we celebrate his death?

Stop and think about why you are celebrating. Is it because he has killed thousands of people and now the U.S. killed him? If that's the case our four founding fathers killed thousands of people and were also slave owners. Christopher Columbus murdered millions, yet he has his own holiday. So now let's rephrase the statement. It is not because he has killed thousands of people, but the fact that he killed thousands of our people. God forbid that is an unforgivable sin. That must be punished by death. We cannot even give him the respect of a proper Muslim burial. He at least deserves that. After all he is the monster the U.S. created. Once upon a time when it was convent for us he was our friend.

Two wrongs never made a right. Violence never created peace just war. No matter how much wrong he has done, the death of a person is never something to celebrate. Yes Osama bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaeda, and believed to be responsible for sept.11th and other attacks on the U.S. He was still a human being and should have been treated as such.

March of Millions

Today thousands of people gather together for the march of millions. Soldiers surrounded the peaceful protesters like they were about to go to war. With helicopters and army tanks ready to fire and strike fear into the hearts of thousands to suppress an uprising. Why are the people machining? They are marching for freedom from oppression.
It’s a peaceful protest, well so far peaceful protest to get the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak. The government is taking no risk. They are cutting internet service at 4 p.m., and all phone services will be cut also. Banks and school were closed due to this and a curfew was set for 3pm.but, protesters obviously disregarded this rule. The military said that they would open fire on the peaceful protesters.
What is the big deal about Hosni Mubarak?  Why do they want him out of office? They want to end their strict and harsh rule of this government. The anger is driven mostly by economic tension. Egypt has seen a dramatic rise in the cost of living in recent years. While the government has offered food subsidies to help people handle rising prices, many are still struggling. In Egypt’s new growing economy it is creating bigger differences between rich and poor.

That’s exactly what people should do. That’s a part of how we changed history, by protesting. But it seemed like protesting only made Hosni Mubarak’s will to stay stronger. He said he will stay in office until a September election. His announcement on state television late Thursday angered protesters who had hoped to hear the president announce his resignation. He should just do them all favor and leave office. There is nothing he can do or say now that is going to change people’s minds about him. The emergency law should have been lifted a long time ago. Changing it now is not going to make much of a difference. The best thing to is step down. Of course he will not and even say that he will not leave Egyptian soil until he is buried underneath it.

U.S. Invasion

There are three major points within Michael Walzer's poignantly written article in the March 20th issue of the New Republic. Walzer wrote concerning the U.S lead roll in establishing a no fly zone in Libya. Walzer states in his First point, "it is radically unclear what the purpose of the intervention…" He goes on to state "the attacks don't have what we should have insisted on from the very beginning…"He finally suggests, "The U.S. should have never invaded Libya." The U.S had no ligament reason to interfere with the Libyan rebellion. If the U.S decides to over throw Qaddafi we would need ground soldiers. Of course they do not have them because they are fighting in Iraq. One may infer from the article that neither France, Britain, nor the United States really wants soldiers there.

The rest of the Arab nation is staying out of this intervention. There is no help coming from Tunisia or Egypt. Even though the U.S has invested so much in to Egypt's army they have no help from them. Like Michael Walzer stated "That is a very bad sign, for the attacks will undoubtedly kill civilians, and these will be innocent men, women, and children, Arab and Muslim, killed (again) by the French, the British, and the Americans."

And the oscar goes to....

Did anyone see the academy awards? It was probably exciting waiting for a favorite nominated actor or actress to receive an award. Now one more question; of the many people nominated, how many were minorities? People may say that is because minorities have not made any movies worthy of winning an academy awards. Why is that? It is not the Academy Awards’ decision to make movies. Is it that Hollywood just does not like telling the stories of minorities? Anyone who is reading this is thinking about all the minority films they have seen.

Look at a so call back film pick up on this. At the end or throughout the movie is there some white person is saving the lower class poor minorities. Like in the movie dangerous minds. A white teach from the suburb saves the day.It is like a bad cliche that people keep saying. Like a superhero the white hope saves the day. For example  in the movie  avatar  Jake Sully a white male that works as an inside man for the army to destroy the natives land changes his ways and ends up saving the natives. African Americans are almost always depicted either poor, poorly educated, in drone need of help, or doing something illegal.

"Courage is fire, and bullying is smoke"

Every day thousands of teens wake up afraid to go to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on its receiving end. Yet because parents, teachers, and other adults don't always see it, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get. What do you think of bullying in schools?

Two of the main reasons people are bullied are because of appearance and social status. Bullies pick on the people they think don't fit in, maybe because of how they look, how they act (for example, kids who are shy and withdrawn), their race or religion, or because the bullies think their target may be gay or lesbian. One of the most painful aspects of bullying is that it is relentless. Most people can take one episode of teasing or name calling or being shunned at the mall. However, when it goes on and on, bullying can put a person in a state of constant fear.

Guys and girls who are bullied may find their schoolwork and health suffering. Amber began having stomach pains and diarrhea and was diagnosed with a digestive condition called irritable bowel syndrome as a result of the stress that came from being bullied throughout ninth grade. I sometimes spent my afternoons hungry and unable to concentrate in class because he was too afraid to go to the school cafeteria at lunchtime.

Bulling is terrible and needs to be stopped, more needs to be done about it. It shouldn't be tolerated. It has led to children bringing guns and other weapons into schools. It has also led children to suicide.

Take Them or Leave Them

The dream act would open so many doors for illegal immigrants and, change the United States for good. No doubt this would make the U.S. more diverse but is this good. Should we let immigrants get a proper education? What are the pros and cons. The big question is do they stay or do they go.
Personally I support the act. Immigrants are going to come to United States if we want them to or not. So why not give them a good education and a job. If you think about it we can really benefit from them. I don’t feel as though it is fair if a person is born elsewhere and then right after comes to the United States. Raised here but can’t get a fair education here. What since does that make. To make life a lot easier for all of us just let the people go to school.

So let’s analyze the situation. The pros are act would give immigrants access to a greater educational opportunities and better jobs which means you can tax them. A 2010 study by the UCLA North American Integration and Development Center estimates that the total earnings of the Act immigrants over the course of their working lives would be between $1.4 trillion and $3.6 trillion. Also the dream act would save tax payers money. How you may ask a study shows that raising the college graduation rate of Hispanics to that of non-Hispanic whites would increase spending on public education by 10 percent nationwide resulting in incomes. The act would benefit the universities for the better. Lastly it would encourage them to contribute to the economy.
In contrast the cons are it was politically motivated by Senator Reid in order to gain Latin American votes in Nevada. Reid is currently tied with Republican challenger Sharron Angle. A second reason was insufficient debate on the bill before the vote. Some members of the GOP are concerned that passage would insight more illegal immigration. Others feel it is a step toward granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants.
So to summarizes you can infer that i think illeale immigrants should be entitled to a fair education. Like everything the act has its pros and cons but in the end I think that it is worth it.they are not hurting anybody and it would be a benefit for us if we passed the act.and because they didn’t more people will be denied a education and deported.so I will leave you this one question .Was it worth it?
